Pre-Season Track at Marymoor

So we are racing track again and it is setting up to be a third friday in a row with no rain. I (Nick) have been doing the no rain dance every friday morning and am three for three so far. The first night was a small field in the Men's 1/2 field but a big women's field. The Gregg's Ladies, Amara and Alynda had great form and sowed well for the early season taking 2 out of three races and putting Amara on top of the overall omnium.

The Gregg's boys (and by boys I mean men) had a decent showing as well. Three of us were out there, Grant, Jimmy, and myself. Grant won the scratch race, I took the 10 lap tempo, and then Grant won the points race after a monster lead out by Jimmy in the final sprint. A hat trick for Gregg's!

Pre-season weak two was a bit faster than week one due to the company that showed up. The boo dog Kenny Williams was in the mix as well as the Hagens-Berman hit squad led by the Hungarian Connection himself, Adrian Hegyvary. Gregg's/LlMond still had a good night despite the competition getting Grant to 2nd place for the night and the Leif Clark Experience and myself launching a flurry of fierce attacks resulting in chaos in the field.

We'll see you out there this Friday night at 7:30am. Its been roumored that the elusive Ryan Miller will be racing as well...we will see...

Cheers

Tour of Walla Walla Recap

DAY 1: So the team loaded up the cars and headed east of the mountains this past weekend, not knowing what crazy weather we would run into. Upon our arrival in Waitsburg for Stage 1, (a 65 or 35 mile road race depending on CAT), we encountered a stiff wind that was punishing to the legs...The course was windy and rolling but the pack was flying so stragglers had to suffer. Jimmy and Grant finished respectably in mid-pack. "Ugh, said Jimmy" No comment from Grant, he just fell asleep in the car.

DAY 2: The morning was relatively nice and the TT went off pretty early. Grant set a blistering pace in the P/1/2 field on the 7.5 mile course and ended up in the top 30 before the day was done. Alynda Lingwood had a strong ride in the Women's 1/2/3 field as well as Amara Boursaw. Jimmy and I got beat by some really fast girls.

DAY 2: (part II) Waitsburg RR "Brutal" 95 miler for the P/1/2. Grant had a great race finishing with the main pack on the finishing climb. The course was rolling and featured wind, a touch of snow, and a 3 km climb that was really fun. The Jimmy, Alynda and Amara all produced strong rides as well over the difficult terrain, and I tried really hard to do my best...

DAY 4: Walla Walla Crit. Again is was Grant with an outstanding performance riding in the front 1/3 of the race the entire 60 min with the exception of one lap there he was involved in a small pileup where he fell over after standing on another racers wheel. He was ok to go and got right back in the action. All in all a job well done.

Moral of the story, we are all getting fitter for the TRACK!

Brad Lewis Memorial Crit

It rained...

a lot...

but big baller Grant got third!! If you see him, find a stepstool, climb on up and see if you can have a ride because this guy is
cruising right now.

Walla Walla is up next, and preseason track racing is just around the
corner. Should be a fun couple of weeks!
